Prior to the filling and labeling stages, bottles are discharged from the bottle unscrambler with random and inconsistent orientations. Relying on manual alignment or simple mechanical guides is insufficient to meet the demands of high-speed production lines and carries a high risk of scratching the bottle surfaces. Solution: Intelligent Industrial Vision Flip Inspection System

To address this client's requirements, we deployed a vision inspection system that integrates high-frame-rate industrial cameras with a servo-driven flipping mechanism.

 

WORKFLOW PRINCIPLES

Real-time Image Capture: Employs a high-resolution industrial camera to instantly trigger image capture as bottles pass through the inspection station at high speed.

Feature Recognition Algorithm: By identifying specific bottle features—such as the cap shape, side ridges, logo placement areas, or mold lines—the vision algorithm determines within milliseconds whether the current bottle is facing its "front" or "back" side.

Intelligent Signal Processing: Algorithms calculate the offset and transmit the correction signal in real-time to the downstream PLC control system.

Precision Flipping Execution: When the vision system identifies a bottle as being in the "inverted" orientation, the backend flipping mechanism (a servo-driven gripper-rotation assembly)

With a precise movement, the bottle is rotated 180°; bottles determined to be in the "correct orientation" pass through directly.
